TOPIC: IS YOUR CAMP HOLY?

MEMORISE

      And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people" (2 Corinthians 6:16).

READ:

Deuteronomy 23:14

[14]. For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.

EXPOSITION

    Oftentimes, we think God is unfair to us, or is slow in granting our heart desires, when we pray and do not receive instant answers. Some even ask, "Is God not merciful anymore?" No! God is always merciful and wants the best for His children. Yet, He is selective in discharging His benevolence. He deals specially with His true and faithful people, than those who are at variance to Him. Are you in the number of God's people, who are in the remnant of the people on the earth, as today commemorates World Population Day? The wicked can't enjoy equal rights and God's graciousness with God's faithful children. God is good (Psa. 18:24-26), but doesn't tolerate ungodliness from any quarter-individual, group, or institution. Iniquity drives His presence far away from the sinner's camp and prayers (Isa. 59:1ff)

        Don't trivialise holiness. God wants to manifest His presence and power in us, because, *...you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people" (2 Cor 6:16). This can only be possible when we walk according to His ordinances, with pure hearts and clean hands. There are times we wish He would celebrate with us in our feasts, to His pleasure anyway, but He would rather withdraw from us because we are dirty. God's eye never beholds sin, He is holy, and so. He desires a holy convocation of His people, and that is when we get all of His blessings. Make sure you pursue holiness to be able to see and enjoy God (Heb. 12:14).

SUGGESTED HYMN FOR TODAY:

CAC GHB 238

1. No not despairingly

    Come I to Thee,

    No, not distrustingly

    Bend I the knee,

    Sin hath gone over me,

    Yet is this still my plea

    Yet is this still my plea

    Jesus hath died.

2. Ah! Mine iniquity

    Crimson has been,

    Infinite, infinite,

    Sin upon sin,

    Sin of not loving Thee,

    Sin of not trusting Thee

    Sin of not trusting Thee,

    Infinite sin.

3. Lord, I confess to Thee

    Sadly my sin,

    All I am tell I Thee

    All I have been

    Purge Thou my sin away

    Wash Thou my soul this day;

    Wash Thou my soul this day

    Lord, make me clean.

4. Faithful and just art Thou,

    Forgiving all;

    Low at Thy pierced feet

    Saviour I fall

    Lord, let the cleansing blood,

    Blood of the Lamb of God,

    Blood of the Lamb of God,

    Pass o'er my soul.

5. Then all is peace and light

    This soul within;

    Thus shall I walk with Thee,

    The loved Unseen;

    Leaning on Thee, my God,

    Guided along the road,

    Guided along the road,

    Nothing between

Amen.

PRAYER POINTS

1. O Lord, imbue in me, the grace that strives for holiness, so that I can be holy as You are holy.

2. O Lord, deliver me from every impurity, and purify me by the washing of Jesus' blood.
