TOPIC: LOCATION DETERMINES ALLOCATION
MEMORISE
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house." So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully (Luke 19: 5,6).
READ:
Genesis 3:8,9
[8]. And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
[9]. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
EXPOSITION
"Where there is no expectation, there can be no disappointment". The question, as captured in today's text, is asked, when there is an expectation to meet someone in a particular location and that person isn't there. It precedes an earlier discussion or agreement. Thus, the question posed to Adam implies that there must have been a particular location in the Garden of Eden where God regularly met with Adam
You might be wondering how possible it is for man to hide from God as stated in verse 8. Yes! No man can hide from God, Psalm 139 affirms. Yet, in this case, the word "hid" is to affirm the fact that man is tries to hide from God when he is not in his God-expected location, where divinity meets with humanity (Exod. 33:21). Also, God's question to Adam, "Where are you?" implies the possibility of man getting lost, even in the Garden. If God could be looking for Adam in the Garden of Eden, it means that one can still be in the circumference of the prescription of God, but not in the exact location he should be.
This same question comes to you, dear reader, as you observe your time with God today: Where are you? Are you in your God-given location, doing your God-given assignment, or you have gone AWOL? Remember, your location determines your allocations, and your allocations are directly proportional to your obedience in your God- given location.
