Title:Do Not Be Anxious

(Luke 12:22-31). 22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you,do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?3 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,4 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

Jesus commanded us not to worry. But how can we avoid it? There seems to be so much to worry about , our money, our future, our children, work, relationships, our health, mistakes and regrets. Only a deep and confident trust in God’s care for us will be able to free us from the anxiety that plagues most of us.

Worry never solves any problems, but it always destroys our peace of mind . To worry is pointless because it can’t fill any of our needs. It creates health problems instead. This is why Jesus commanded that we shouldn’t worry but that we should seek His kingdom first and every other thing will be added.

Overcoming worry requires the following (1) Trust in our Heavenly Father that He is capable of caring for us.We can express this trust by praying to Him rather than worrying.(Matthew 11:28-30). Seeking the Kingdom of God above all else means making Jesus the Lord and King of all your life. Seeking Him is not a one-time action. We must keep on asking Him to control everything about us and every area of our lives , work, and all our plans and relationships.

Do you put God first in all you do? Including your career, marriage, even when you don’t have any job , do you seek His face for a new job? Or do you go and start seeking how you are going to get into occultism? Or trying to look for whom to kill and take their blood or body parts for money rituals? Do you allow God to direct your thoughts and undertakings? Are you holding any areas of your life from His control? As our Lord and our creator, He wants to help us to provide what we need as well as guide how we use what He provides. Amen.

Prayers: I surrender to Your tender care oh Lord, my body, mind , soul and my whole life by relinquishing worry over things I cannot control. Help me father.
