HEAVEN'S REQUIREMENT

RBT: Isaiah 60-63

Memory Verse: “Since we live by the spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”Galatians 5:25,NIV

Bible Text: Galatians 5:22-26

5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

5:23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

5:26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

A preacher got onto a bus one day and he gave the driver the money for the trip. The driver gave him too much change. The preacher went back to the driver and said, 'You gave me too much change.' The bus driver replied, “Pastor, I really appreciate this because I was in your church service yesterday, and I heard your sermon on honesty. So, I intentionally gave you too much change to see if you would live by what you preached.”

The pastor smiled and said, 'Since we live by the Spirit, we keep in step with the Spirit.' The thrust of today's passage is that if we live by the Spirit, our life will gradually produce spiritual fruits. Jesus' analogy in John 15 is particularly apt. A tree only bears fruits as it matures, has its roots down deep in the soil and draws up nutrients which are made into usable energy food by the leaves. Heaven's requirement is that every believer should walk in the Spirit, and manifest the fruit of the Spirit always.

Are you walking in the Spirit and bearing enduring fruit? The good news of the gospel needs a good life to properly adorn it.

Insight: The fruit of the Spirit comes by living in the Spirit.

Prayer: LORD Jesus, let my life be in accordance with heaven's requirements.
