TOPIC: VALUE HIS TREASURE

MEMORISE

     Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and bugs that field (Matthew 13: 44).

READ 1 Timothy 5:8

[8]. But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

EXPOSITION

       Treasure is any valuable stored in a thing of great worth or value. The understanding of the worth of a thing propels/encourages treasuring it. The valuable is kept as treasure. Find out the value of the treasure you have, protect it, and keep it adequately Add value to it by the day (2 Tim. 2:15).

       There are things in life that are God's treasures. He values them wholeheartedly and presents them to us as such, placing on them, high premium. He makes them special and a must-have. The Christian home is one of such. A healthy home is the best possible environment where God's law and principles are taught. The world God created would have been heaven on earth, if man had treasured his home.

        God places a very high value on marriage and home. He wants us to see our marriages as highly valuable, and live as such in relation to our spouses and children/wards. To God, the Christian home is a most valuable possession. He expects man to do all things to protect and preserve it. There is nothing in the world that can replace marriage and family. It is your home next after Christ. Don't prioritise any other thing over and above the health of your God-given home. The best gifts are given to children in the home. The home shapes, moulds and helps in fulfilling the purpose of God on every child. Holiness, righteousness, the fear of God, steadfastness, etc. are good gifts children receive in the healthy home. Do treasure your home!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray for the enablement to value what God values, with all your heart.

2. Pray for Christian homes, that God will destroy every strategy of Satan to put them apart. 

3. Pray for our children, that God will guard their hearts against all evil counsels that may mar their futures.
