TOPIC: LIGHT UP THE WORLD

EXPOSITION
To light up something is to bring it into an encounter with the light. A dark room will be illuminated when a lamp or an electric bulb is lit. God is the first Physicist Who lit up the then dark world. Since then, it has become obvious that light is an important part of human life. Those who can appreciate the operation of light are those who know the deeds of darkness. Darkness is not good for anything. It restricts one's movement, hampers growth and causes confusion in human lives. In darkness, nothing good comes out. All the good works of creation we see today came after the earth had been illuminated with light. Our God, the Light and Father of light, does not want His children to be in darkness or influenced by the works of darkness, that is why He commanded light into existence and saw that it was good; He separated the light from darkness, and called the light Day, and the darkness, Night. He also made two great lights the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night (Gen 13-5). What a wonderful God and Father of light we serve!
All said and done, having perfected the work of creation in six days, God has given the responsibility to light up the world to the believers in Christ Jesus, because the world is full of darkness (Isa. 60:1-3). Christians are the light of the world, and a city set on the hill cannot be hidden (Matt. 5:14). According to Matthew 4:16, they have seen and received the great light which is Jesus Christ, and He is living in them. You don't light a lamp and keep it under a bushel. If you claim to have light and you fail to shine it, you are not different from someone that has no light. Therefore, go and fulfil Jesus' command in Matthew 28: 18-20, to go and light up the world with His gospel. Let your light so shine before men! Light up the world.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, make me a light, just as You are, to give light to as many who have not seen the Light of Life, in Jesus' name.
2. O Lord, let the light of the gospel flourish all over the world, in Jesus' name.
3. Holy Spirit, destroy every power working against the propagation of the gospel's light in this land.
