TOPIC: GOD'S PLAN IS UNSTOPPABLE

MEMORISE

     So he was hidden with her in the house of the LORD for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land (2 Kings 11:5).

READ:

2 Kings 11: 1-3

[1]. When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal heirs. 

[2]. But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being murdered; and they hid him and his nurse in the bedroom, from Athaliah, so that he was not killed. 

[3]. So he was hidden with her in the house of the Lord for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land.

EXPOSITION

       God uses man to fulfil His unfolding eternal redemptive plan. It was not a mistake that Joash was hidden from Athaliah; neither was it an accident, but a planned work by God. Whosoever assumes any office is made possible by God, in line with His plan (Psa 75: 4-5). He is the Master of the universe and the Governor of all nations (Psa 22:28, 24: 1ff). Whatever office we are given, has been ordained by God. Therefore, one should use it according to God's plan. Many people are running helter-skelter, scheming and lobbying to assume offices, but doing it God's way is their problem. And if they eventually get there, they pursue their own godless agendas, to God's chagrin. This is why some highly placed officers fail. As a father or mother in your own household, as a leader in any organisation, including the Church, follow God's plan and act according to God's instruction

        God allowed Joash to be hidden and protected from the genocide that would have wasted him. By divine providence, he later became King at age seven, it is the plan of God. He would have been killed with his brothers, but God spared him. He himself didn't lobby for the position but it was the plan of God for him to be there. Just like Joash did the right thing in the sight of the LORD, follow the path of God's holiness where God positions you. Remember: *A man can receive nothing he can claim nothing [he can take unto himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source]* (Jn. 3: 27 AMP). *It's not possible for a person to succeed - I'm talking about eternal success-without heaven's help* (TBCL).
