TEXT: JOHN 15:11-17

TOPIC: SHOW OTHERS THE LOVE OF CHRIST

JOHN 15:11-17 NIV

11:I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

12:My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

13:Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

14:You are my friends if you do what I command.

15:I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

16:You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

17:This is my command: Love each other.

SHOW OTHERS THE LOVE OF CHRIST

One of the major reasons that Jesus calls people into a relationship with Him is for them to be fruitful through bearing fruits that will last.

This is so important that Jesus had to emphasize it in this last discourse He had with His disciples. 

He changed the nature of His relationship with them by calling them 'friends' which showed His deep love for them. 

Jesus expects everyone that comes to Him to show the type of love He experienced from the Father so as to make His love complete. 

One of the ways in which we can be fruitful is by loving other people the way He loves us.

Your life is only useful to the extent it touches others with the same kind of love that you have received from the Father.

*QUESTION:* How do you manifest the benefits of your relationship with Christ?

*PRAYER:* Help me, dear Lord, to show others the same kind of love You have shown me so that they can also experience Your everlasting love. Amen.
