TOPIC: THE TIMING OF GOD

BIBLE READING:

ESTHER 6:1-4

1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. 2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. 4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

KEY VERSE:

"Then the king said, 'What honour or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for that." Esther 6:3

MEDITATION:

Our lives are measured in time. This consciousness is the reason for the rat race everywhere. Many times, even as believers, we feel we are left behind and our expectations and rewards are delayed. We must understand that nothing about our lives is out of God's grip and control. He does and fulfills all things at His own fullness of time (Galatians 4:4). God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are our ways, His ways (Isaiah 55:8, 9).

When God's time to remember and favour a man comes, He orders everything to a standstill, including making a king to lose his sleep. When God's time comes to reward you, he turns the table against the enemy and scatters their evil plans. God did all these for Mordecai, although at the beginning, it appeared he had been forgotten (Esther 5:14; 6:1)

God had foreseen a time of trouble and had arranged to use the remembrance of Mordecai's good deed towards the king as a tool to turn the table against Hamman, the enemy of Mordecai and the Jews. The Bible says, "He is the Rock, His work is perfect and all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice. Righteous and Upright is He (Deuteronomy 32:4). Do not despair, but trust God. He knows what you do not know and He sees what you cannot see. He is working out things for your good and you will testify.

Do you feel you have been forgotten? Are you already weary and tired, and at the verge of giving up?

PRAYER:

O Lord, teach me to trust your perfect timing for my life.
