BE THANKFUL AND REJOICE

PHILEM. 1:4-7; PHIL. 4:4

Paul wrote his letter to Philemon while he was under house arrest in Rome (Acts 28:30-31). He was not depressed nor discouraged by his condition. Rather, the news of Philemon's love and faith in the Lord Jesus delighted him. He was therefore thankful to God. The tone of his letter evidenced that he always prayed for him. Good news from those we love and pray for, will gladden our hearts and make us rejoice. Paul's situation did not reflect in his physical reaction. He displayed the spirit of perseverance. He believed that God will never abandon him. Therefore, he was not moved negatively. No matter your condition, always rejoice in the Lord (Phil. 4:4).

POINT OF EMPHASIS: Don't be discouraged, be thankful and rejoice. Jesus is with you.

PRAYER POINT: It is not my portion to be sad. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with joy in the name of Jesus.
