HOPE AND TRUST IN GOD
Read: Psalms 31:20-24
[20]You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.
[21]Blessed be the Lord, For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city!
[22]For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You.
[23]Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person.
[24]Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.
MEMORISE: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who trust in the LoRD (Psalm 31:24).
EXPOSITION
Recent studies show that hope is a critical factor in mental health. An attitude of hope found in hostages makes a difference in survival. Our bedevilled world of uncertainties has seen more people with mental challenges than ever before-the burdened, hopeless and helpless, because of accumulated difficulties of life. Although, you still have these people in the regular public places and are seen as hundred percent sound upstairs, majority would test positive to mental illness, if diagnosed! Today's devotional dosage is proffering solution to this dangerous trend. A hopeful attitude can make a big difference in our entire mental outlook. Hope is a great motivator and source of mental and physical perseverance. Most depression treatments work well in patients convinced that their mood can improve significantly and that they can be helped. Depression and anxiety often afflict the pessimistic and hopeless! Be hopeful, dear devout; your expectation will not be cut short (Prov. 24:14).There is surely an end to all these.
Breaking News has the tendency to break you down if you choose not to break away from them! What is new in the news? Only Jesus Christ is the Good News! Don't panic; never be disheartened, there is still hope for you. Political hope does not transcend the finite, and focuses only on the ephemeral, but hope in God promises what the world cannot offer. We must trust Him in both bad and good times, even when He seems to be "killing" us? Remember that, hope that is seen is not hope. Keep praying, waiting, persevering and trusting Him.
Don't be depressed; help is on your way. Amen.
