Bible Text: 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

6:14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 

6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 

6:16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”

6:17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 

6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

Recently, there was an online video warning consumers of malt drinks over the imitation of one of the popular brands in the market.

Unfortunately, there is also imitation of the Christian faith in our generation. Some people who claim to be believers follow the patterns of the world in their way of living. Paul was concerned about spiritual state of the Corinthian believers and strongly confronted them with the need to live a separated life. He raised some rhetorical questions about the relationship between believers and unbelievers. His emphasis was that believers should not engage in wicked practices, works of darkness, and idolatrous practices which unbelievers are known for. He charged the believers to clearly separate themselves from any unclean thing that can contaminate them as the temple of God. 

Like the Corinthian believers, we should separate ourselves from anything that will tarnish the image of Christ in our lives. As a student, worker, business person or religious leader, you should not engage in any ungodly act. You are expected to trust God to provide your needs. Live for Christ always.

Insight: Christians are not to be isolated but be separated from ungodly living in the world.

Prayer: LORD Jesus, give me the grace to separate myself from whatever does not give You glory.
