TOPIC: ADVERSITIES ARE MY SERVANTS! I AM HOLDING ON!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: HEBREWS 12: 1-8

Welcome to today’s devotional! It was Williams Shakespeare who crafted this in one cold winter night: “Let me embrace thee, sour adversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.”

Then the great Jon M. Huntsman Sr. penned: “A crisis creates the opportunity to dip deep into the reservoirs of our very being, to rise to levels of confidence, strength, and resolve that otherwise we didn’t think we possessed.” Yes! Trials reveal your deeper gifts to you!

Hear the judicial (Judge) Spanish-American, Sonia Sotomayor: “There are uses to adversity, and they don’t reveal themselves until tested. Whether it’s a serious illness, financial hardship, or the simple constraint of parents who speak limited English, the difficulty can tap unexpected strengths.”

Betty Smith spoke about her children even when living conditions were harsh – “Who wants to die? Everything struggles to live. Look at that tree growing up there out of that grating. It gets no sun, and water only when it rains.

Jesus Christ ENDURED CONTRADICTIONS! When things don’t go the way you plan, just TRUST HIM, HOLD ON AND HOLD OUT!
