FUNCTIONING IN THESE LAST DAYS BY THE SPIRIT OF FAITH (2)

 Text: 2 Corinthians 4:13; 1 Peter 2:24

Words are important, but our words are different from the words of an unbeliever because we have a spirit they don’t have. From the scripture in 2 Corinthians 4:13, you will observe the progression – I believe, and I speak. This means the words I speak are words coming from what I believe. Many people say things they don’t believe every day. For instance, saying “I am dead” is a lie because you are not dead. The first place where your Christianity will show if you are growing is in your language; in the use of your words. It doesn’t matter who you are, how much Bible or title you carry, if your language of faith isn’t improving, you are backsliding and close to destruction.

People must notice a drastic change in the words from your mouth to the point that you suddenly become a policeman of people’s words, and they are careful to talk anyhow around you.

Years ago, there was a yellow fever outbreak in town. I went to a hospital and met some of our church members who were nurses. A conversation ensued and one of them asked if I was there for a yellow fever check-up. I answered in the negative and told her yellow fever knows the people it can attack. She replied that she was just being honest because she knew I would say she didn’t have faith. I told her it was true that she didn’t have faith. By being “honest”, she was lying against God. Saying you are sick is physical honesty, but it is against the scriptures because your spiritual status is “healed” according to 1 Peter 2:24.

PRAYER: Lord, I believe in what You have said concerning me and my future. I choose to speak Your promises over my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!

ACTION: Take your Bible and declare those promises now.
