GOFAMINT DAILY DEVOTIONAL READING FRI. 29/9/2023 THE BREAD OF LIFE

JN. 6:31-51

God denied Adam and his wife access to the Tree of Life to prevent them from living forever in their depraved and corrupt nature. God loves man and planned his redemption even before he fell. God made an alternative provision to the Tree of Life by sending His only begotten Son to the world. Jesus declared Himself as the Bread of Life. The purpose of the Tree of Life to man is exactly what the Bread of Life does - to make man live forever. This time, this Bread is a Personality. This Personality is Life Himself (Jn. 1:4, 11:25). Only Life can give life. Jesus offers Himself to everyone who desires to live forever. Just as it was optional for Adam to eat the Tree of Life in the Garden, this Bread of Life is only available to those who care. His offering is "if anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever." What is your disposition to this life-giving offering? Have you accepted Jesus' invitation? You must make the decision today, tomorrow may be too late.

POINT OF EMPHASIS: God's plan to make man live forever has not changed.

PRAYER POINT: Help me Lord not to trivialise this life-giving offer in Jesus name.
