HIGHER EVERYDAY MONDAY SEPTEMBER 18, 2023 REJECTING GODLY REPROOF

 

MEMORY VERSE: “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” (Proverbs 29:1).

TEXT: PROVERBS 29:1-3

Our world, today, is full of people who are drifting away from God’s Word as regards the standard of life that God has designed for humanity. The society is so permissive that it calls good, evil and evil, good. Anything goes and everything is accepted freely except the Gospel, which is able to transform and beautify one’s life. A Christian writer puts it this way, “The desire to be accepted by the world and its standards are very dangerous and have driven and are driving many away from the desire to receive correction from the Word of God. Instead, they reject it and have God and the world at the same time as they live life pleasing themselves.”

What is your opinion on godly counsel and reproof? If you shun reproof, be sure that you will be worse for it, bringing to yourself doom and disgrace. However, Jesus invites you today, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).Yes, rest from immoral acts, smoking, drinking, violence and satanic oppression.

QUOTE: You will be worse for it.

PRAYER: Have your way in my life, oh God.

CHALLENGE: Count the cost of rejecting godly reproof.
