HIGHER EVERYDAY SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 09, 2023 THE WONDERS OF WISDOM

MEMORY VERSE: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5).

TEXT: JAMES 1:5-7

King Solomon, one of the wisest kings that ever lived, said, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom ...” What then is wisdom? What is its importance and how can it be got? Wikipedia defines wisdom as the ability to contemplate and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight. From the foregoing, a wise person uses knowledge right. He can make the right choices in difficult situations and uses available resources to accomplish his dreams. Everyone needs wisdom because according to the Hillsong Church, it “gives a sense of personal security and stability. Wisdom builds strong homes and promotes happy family relationships.”

The Bible talks about two kinds of wisdom: one is heavenly and the other is earthly. The first promotes a healthy interpersonal relationship while the other creates disaffection in human relationships (James 3:13-17). Heavenly wisdom comes from God and only those who know Him can possess it. The content of a parcel should normally belong to the addressee. Like healing, wisdom is “the children’s bread.” Are you one?

PRAYER: Lord evermore, give me the heavenly wisdom.
