RBT: Daniel 4-5

Memory Verse: Jesus replied, 'Let us go somewhere else- to the nearby villages –so that I can preach there also. That is why I have come, Mark 1:38. (NIV)

Bible Text: Mark 1:35-38

1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

1:36 Simon and his companions went to look for him,

1:37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”

1:38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.”

When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable, goes a popular saying. Many people have left the earth without discovering their purpose for living. This shows in their lifestyle. Every equipment like electronics, vehicles, and electrical appliances comes with a manual, indicating the purpose, installation and usage. This is to enable the owner to make the best of the equipment.

Jesus Christ, in the beginning of His earthly ministry, was involved in teaching, healing and preaching. In one of His outings, very early before the day break, He went in to a solitary place to pray, to seek, know, and pursue His purpose for living. Meanwhile, the disciples were looking for Him, and when they found Him, they stated their reason for seeking Him. In response, Jesus told them that the primary goal of His coming to the world is to fulfil God's purpose by being at His duty post.

Have you discovered the purpose for your existence? How are you pursuing it? Stop living a life without purpose. Perhaps you're yet to know or pursue the purpose. It is not too late. God is still interested in you. Discover your purpose and live for it.

Insight: You can only recover if you discover.

Prayer: Help me, LORD, to discover and fulfil the purpose for my living in Jesus' name.
