Our Daily Manna Devotional 20 September 2023 SALVATION ON SINKING SAND!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PHILIPPIANS 2: 5-11

Welcome to today’s devotional! Our key verses are Vs. 10 and 11. When a man gets born again, he acknowledges that Jesus died for his sins according to the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3-4).

He then confesses Him as his/her Saviour and thereafter salvation becomes his/hers. That is the first step. Confessing Jesus as Saviour is not enough. That is half salvation and could be slippery.

To get it in full, Jesus must be acknowledged as Lord over every aspect of your life. Why? Because in the past we served the devil, and by extension we belonged to his kingdom.

But having received salvation, we must break away completely from his kingdom and yield to God only.

However, some folks only want Jesus to be their Saviour but not the Lord of their lives. They behave like a minister I read about who was said to be afraid to let Jesus be his Lord because He might send him off to be a missionary.

What a pity! God wishes every child of His well (Jeremiah 29:11). Making Jesus your Lord will never make things worse but better.

If He is not yet Lord of your life, then your salvation is incomplete and you stand on sinking sand. Make Him in this 2nd half of 2023, both Saviour and Lord of your life. That is full salvation.

Always remember and whatsapp this to others: If He is not Lord of all, He is not Lord at all. Pray seriously now!

PRAYER POINTS:
Take Song 1: Amazing grace…

Pray against barriers to obeying the voice of God. Promise to yield your life fully under His control.

Ask for His peace to flood your heart.

Whatever is not yet under God’s control in your life, surrender it and uproot it from your heart now.

Pray about today now.

ASSIGNMENT: List areas of your life where Jesus is not yet Lord e.g. your time, finances (pocket), family, kids, career, sleep, food, etc. Then declare a day of fasting to fully surrender, let go and let God.
