SINCERE MILK SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 24, 2023 LOOK BACK AND REMEMBER

KEY VERSE: "And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes." Deuteronomy 16:12

TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 16:9-12

Miracle was born with a chronic heart condition. Her parents usually reminded her of how the medical team that handled her case almost gave up on her; she was actually declared dead, but through God's miraculous touch, she came back to life. She stayed in the hospital for about three months after her birth for close medical observation and monitoring. Her parents named her Miracle because of her miraculous survival. Anytime the family looked back, they always remembered what God had done for them. This always made them to offer praises and thanksgiving to Him.

Our Bible passage was a kind of reminder to the children of Israel to always remember and also appreciate God for delivering them from bondage in Egypt. They were charged to make the celebration of their redemption from slavery in Egypt an annual event (feast).

In the same manner, our salvation from sin cost God His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross at Calvary for our redemption. We should always pause to look at the cost of our redemption and the love of God for us and be thankful to Him. We should stay away from anything that can take away our salvation and live righteously everyday of our lives.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please, help me to always remember and appreciate You for laying down Your life for my sin.
