EXPOSITION
A traveller once related an incident which illustrates today's Living Water dose. He set out on a long journey from the southern part of the country to the north. By his estimation, the bus he boarded would arrive his destination between 5.00 and 6.00 am, but surprisingly, the bus moved so fast that it got there around 1.30 am, about 3 and half hours less. He was apprehensive because he had not thought the bus would arrive in his destination so early. He eventually disembarked and went to the house of his host. As he knocked at the door, the host immediately came to open the door, once he heard his friend's voice. This was because of their intimacy-friendship.
Christianity is relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus says that we are His friends, a level of relationship deeper than mere master-servant cordiality (Jn. 15:14ff). This relationship is based on the Christian agreeing with, and doing Christ's will, wholly (v 14; cf. Amos 3:3).
Get it right: If you cultivate the habit of praying to God, regularly, sincerely, and with a contrite heart, based on His Word, He will recognise your voice and answer you accordingly (Dan. 9:21-23). It is just like you calling your spouse at a distance; he/she recognises your voice without question, because of the familiarity, togetherness relationship.
Move closer to God by spending more time with Him in prayer, the study of His Word, and rendering sincere faithful services to Him, at all times. Draw near to God; do His biddings. He will recognise your voice when you call upon Him.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord Jesus, help me to live the life that will make my voice readily recognisable to You whenever I call.
2. Lord, give me the grace of Bible-based praying and sincerity in service.
3. Lord, entrench right attitudes to prayer and Bible study in our churches.
