Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life (Galatians 6:7-8).

EXPOSITION
The law of karma and that of the agricultural principle of sowing and reaping are universal, yet different. In Galatians 6:7-8, Paul appealed to the latter with respect to spiritual life. This is explicit in our Bible reading for today. Figuratively, both in the natural and spiritual realms, whatever we plant is what we reap. It is certainly unlikely to reap corn when yam is planted. If you indulge in self-destructive behaviours, you are going to harvest corruption and decay. The magazines you read, movies watched, associates kept, food and drinks taken are seeds of corruption or virtuousness into your flesh and spirit, are largely determinant of the kind of life you choose for yourself. The spiritual nature, i.e. being born again ushers in the reign of spirituality over our fleshly desires, preparing our hearts/lives as God's abode by His Spirit. It is this God's indwelling Spirit who places such indescribable longing, thus securing a daily fellowship with the Godhead. This is the spiritual result of being armed with the thoughts of God, which make a Christian enjoy, the presence, power, peace, and love of God always. This motivates spiritual awareness in us for constant appraisal of our deeds. Start sowing righteousness with endurance and unyielding faith. Stop sowing to the flesh, and assuredly you will reap glorious harvests, and eternal life.

1. In Jesus' name, I overcome all spirits of deception today and forever.
2. Lord, let Your spirit dwell in me so that I may sow according to your expectation; I refuse to sow carnality and ungodliness henceforth.
3. Lord, let the spirit of self-deceit not plague our children at all levels.
