JUDG. 9:12-13; JN. 15:17

It is true that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Only a man who has identified his purpose on earth and is comfortable with God's agenda for his life will truly find rest. While people fight, cheat, maneuver, and even kill to seat on king's throne, Jesus took to His heels at the slight suspicion that the people wanted Him as a king. Also, where we read, the vine recognised that what gives its existence purpose and relevance is the wine it produces. The vine turned down the opportunity to sit as a king because it knew that would mean it will sacrifice its fulfilment and forfeit its purpose. It is better to serve and fulfil purpose, than to be served and not be fulfilled.

POINT OF EMPHASIS: Beloved, do not sacrifice purpose for pleasure.

PRAYER POINT: Lord, help me to remain focused and not lose out on Your purpose for my life in Jesus' name.
