NIGERIAN BAPTIST CONVENTION SEEK DAILY (NBC) Wednesday, October 4 ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER

RBT: Matthew 7-9

Memory Verse: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, NIV

Bible Text: Romans 8:28-30

8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

8:30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

We may not always understand or enjoy moments of suffering and agony, but we can find great comfort in God's reassuring Word that He directs all our sufferings for our ultimate good of becoming like His Son and sharing eternally in His glory.

The phrase “those who love God” isn't a state of being, but a description of those who have received new life in Christ by encountering God's love. Although God, in His wisdom, knows all those who will be saved ultimately in the future, it is man's responsibility to receive Jesus to obtain eternal life.

All those who receive Jesus and persevere to the end are those God foreknew before the earth's foundation to be glorified ultimately. It's important to note that God knows all those who will accept His offer of salvation ahead of time. God's omniscience does not in any way mean He is responsible for the choices of those who reject the gospel.

Every man is responsible for the choices he makes. If you are truly in Christ, God's plan is to preserve you even as you persevere to keep your faith till the end. Therefore, all the sufferings you face daily work together for your good, as your ultimate future to reign with Christ is secured.

Insight: All true believers are secured in God's eternal plan to be like Jesus ultimately.

Prayer: Father, thank You for securing my ultimate future, which is glorification. Help me to persevere in Christ.
