NIGERIAN BAPTIST CONVENTION SEEK DAILY (NBC) Thursday, October 5 COMMIT YOUR WAYS INTO GOD'S HANDS

RBT: Matthew 10-11

Memory Verse: Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3, NIV

Bible Text: Proverbs 16:1-3

16:1 To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue.

16:2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.

16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

As the saying goes, “Man proposes, God disposes.” Although we have the ability and skillfulness to plan, we must also learn to depend on God to steer our lives according to His perfect will.

Today's passage points out three essential lessons. First, God is sovereign while man is limited (v. 1). Because man is limited, we must learn to rely on God for guidance to avoid risking experimenting with our lives. Second, God is the great Discerner and final Judge who weighs the motives of our hearts (v. 2). Man's judgment concerning himself is not absolute, but God's judgment is. Lastly, God establishes our plans when we hand them over to Him and consciously apply the principles of His Word (v. 3).

Making good plans is good as long as they are entrusted into God's hands. It is more rewarding to put God first when planning your life. Do you find it difficult to commit your plans to God? List those things that keep you from putting God first in your plans and repent this day.

Whatever keeps you from committing your plans to God is a major enemy to your destiny.

Insight: You plan to fail when you ignore God when making your plans.

Prayer: I commit my plans to You. Establish the works of my hands for glorious returns.
