SPIRIT MEAT DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY REV OLUSOLA AND REV OYENIKE AREOGUN Sunday, 10th December 2023 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF ESTHER

Esther 4:14; Psalm 91:14

God purposefully brought Esther to the King’s palace as a single lady to replace Vashti so that she could be well-positioned for the fulfilment of her destiny as the saviour of Israel, which she needed to do as a married person. She had received the training that she would need to function in that assignment as a single lady under the custody of Mordecai.

The reason women don’t continue into a destiny marriage after they get married is that they have transferred their allegiance from God to their husbands and that is an error. That was what killed Sapphira (Act. 5:1-10). The purpose of your marriage should be to enhance the fulfilment of the plan of God for your life, not for you and your husband to form a team against the Holy Ghost to do your wish on the earth and enjoy yourself. Esther could have teamed up with the King to destroy the Jews.

Once you’re not sold out to the purpose of God as a woman but withdraw your love from Him and set it on your spouse, you become ensnared. God says, “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him…” (Psa. 91:14). The love of your heart should be set on God and His purpose.

It is a misplaced priority to set your affection on a man before setting your affection on God and His purpose for you. Don’t be possessed by carnal love because it will ensnare you; you will sell yourself out and you will still not have the fulfilment that you want in that marriage.

PRAYER: Lord, I pray for a revelation of my purpose in life and a divine alignment of my marriage to that purpose, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

BIBLE IN A YEAR: Amos 1:1-3:15; Revelation 2:1-17; Psalm 129:1-8; Proverbs 29:19-20
