TOPIC: LIFE'S PRIORITIES

MEMORISE Because I live, you will live also (John 14:19b).

READ:

Ezekiel 16:1-6

[1]. Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

[2]. “Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

[3]. and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God to Jerusalem: “Your birth and your nativity are from the land of Canaan; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

[4]. As for your nativity, on the day you were born your navel cord was not cut, nor were you washed in water to cleanse you; you were not rubbed with salt nor wrapped in swaddling cloths.

[5]. No eye pitied you, to do any of these things for you, to have compassion on you; but you were thrown out into the open field, when you yourself were loathed on the day you were born.

[6]. “And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’

 EXPOSITION

Among life's most important priorities is LIFE itself. The more reason you have to preserve it from all forms of infections and diseases, spiritual and physical, as today marks World Hepatitis Day. It is the essence of every being. It lacks duplicate. Its origin is the Living God. It is defined as the "organic phenomenon that distinguishes living organisms from non-living ones" The functionality of all animals and plants, including mankind since creation, has been due to this wonder called, "bios" or life. The Lord Jesus Christ knew the vitality of life by promising His followers, *because I live, you shall live also,* according to today's memory verse. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He has, and gives it abundantly. According to the early apostles of the Lord, believers have been given ALL that pertain unto life and godliness. And that *If we have food and clothing, we shall be content* (1 Tim. 6:8; 2 Pet. 1:1-3).

God values life and therefore made ample provisions to protect its sanctity. The Lord Jesus Christ says that life is even more important than food and cares of life (Matt. 6:25). There is the physical life. It is sustained by air, water, food and light. Similarly, the spiritual life is sustained by fellowship with God. The physical life is temporal while the spiritual is eternal. Since God's breath initially gave life, and His providence sustains it, you will do well to trust Him for, and in all things. For it is written: *God has given us eternal life. And this life is in His Son, Jesus* (1 Jn. 5:11). Say it loud and clear that: "I shall live and not die, to declare the works of the Lord, in Jesus' name"
