LESSON 14

TOPIC: THE HERITAGE OF BELIEVERS

Text: Esther 6:1-13

Memory Verse:

"No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servant of the Lord and their vindication from me, says the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17).

Lesson Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. trust God for deliverance in every situation they may find themselves;

2. obey God's instruction and believe in the power of God.;

3. rely on God for protection from enemies;

4. follow the maker for instructions, be

obedient, be loyal; and

5. overcome satan's temptation and pass God's test.

Enemies will continue to fail over our lives as believers, if we obey and follow God. Any plan against God's children will fail.

Introduction

We thank God for another week that the Lord will open our eyes to the Heritage of Believers. But before we move into this week's lesson, let's revise previous lesson about the lad who worked for the wicked man. We can all see that it is not good to plan evil against the anointed of God.

This lesson is on the Heritage of believers. Believers have heritage, if they stand for Christ, even in times of challenge. If they have been saved, and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. But unsaved child has no heritage with God, except he gives his life to Jesus Christ. Then he can enjoy the goodness of God.

WEEK ONE: GOD TURNS SHAME TO HONOUR The Jews were saved and secure, while the enemy, Haman, was put to shame and disgraced. The evil he planned bounced

 back on him.

In the night, the king was unable to sleep and asked for the book of memorable deeds. The book showed that Modecai had some time, saved the king's life from death, which was plotted by some King's eunuchs, that sought to lay hands on king Ahasuerus and kill him. The king asked if there is any honour or dignity given to Modecai for what he did. I pray that the good things you have done shall be brought to remembrance in Jesus' name.

King Ahasuerus now asked what to be done to Modecai. It was the time when Haman entered into the outer court of the king's palace, and the king ordered him to enter.

The king asked him for what can be done to the man whom the king delighted in. But Haman thought he was the person; he mentioned all what he had in mind. It is not good to be selfish. After he had mentioned everything, the king said he should do likewise to Modecai, the man he planned to kill. The Lord will place the evil plan of your enemies on to them in Jesus' name.

LESSONS

1. Only God can turn-off the evil plan of our enemies.

2. Remain faithful to the Lord, and He will not allow you to be put to shame.

3. God rewards our good deeds, no matter the duration

Aug. 6: WEEK TWO: REWARD FOR

GODLINESS

Last week, we saw how Modecai was to be honoured for his good deed. We shall continue this week on how it was acted out. After Haman mentioned everything to be done to the person that the king wanted to honour, because he thought he was the one the king delighted in. The King said he should go and do likewise to Modecai and he should not live out anything on what he had mentioned. Haman did everything: he took the robes, the horse and he arrayed Modecai and made him ride through the open square of the city. Proclaiming "thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honour" (Esther 6:7-13).

Enemies cannot prevail over believers.

Believers are protected, and delivered from the enemies. Believers have a good heritage from God.

God heritage is only for those that have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, putting their total trust in God as Esther and other Jews did. So if you have not given your life to Jesus, do so today, so that you can enjoy the heritage of believers.

LESSONS DERIVED

1. Only the believers can enjoy the heritage of God.

2. Believers enjoy divine protection, safety and honour.

3. It is not good to use our positions to

wage war against other people.

4. It is good to do good and safe lives and not to compromise

5. Whatever you sow, you shall reap it.

QUESTIONS

1. Who is Haman?

2. What was his plan to the Jews?

3 . Did Haman succeed in his plan?

4. What is the name of the king?

5. Mention three believers heritage.

PRAYER

O Lord, no matter what I may be passing through, help me not to compromise my christian heritage. Amen
