TOPIC: THE JOURNEY TO THE JOY AHEAD

BIBLE READING:

1 PETER 2:21-25

21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

KEY VERSE:

“Who when he was reviled, reviled not again, when he suffered, he threatened not, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.” 1 Peter 2:23

MEDITATION:

There is celebration when a new baby is born into a family. However, it is the mother of the new born that knows the pain and agony she endured during the months of pregnancy to the day of delivery. What keeps women in such times is the joy ahead.

Without pain, there won’t be gain, and every glory has a story behind it.

The author of Hebrews in chapter 12:2 aptly puts it concerning the life of our Master and Lord: “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Whatever is our destination either in life, career or ministry, we must come to terms that there will be obstacles, barriers and challenges along our pathways to the Promised Land. We must not allow the obstructions to stop us, but instead, use them as stepping stones to where we are headed (Psalms 84:5-7). Our winning ticket is to focus on God, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith and also to look at the joy that awaits us ahead. We are destined to win.

How prepared are you to confront the challenges that might be waiting for you on your road to victory?

PRAYER:

Dear Father, the grace of a good finisher, bestow upon my life in Jesus’ name.
