Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria Grace for Living Devotional Saturday September 30, 2023 TOPIC: GOD IS TOO FAITHFUL TO FAIL YOU

BIBLE READING:

ROMANS 8:28, 31-32

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:31-32

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

KEY VERSE:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.” Romans 8:28

MEDITATION:

The story was told of Dr. Abraham, a cancer specialist and atheist who was scheduled to receive an award in a medical conference. His flight had operational challenges, so he opted to rent a car and drive to the city where the conference was to hold.

Soon after he left, a heavy storm began which made visibility very poor. He missed the turn he was to take. He came across a tattered house and knocked on the door. A lady opened the door. He explained his situation and requested to use the lady's telephone, but she had none. She asked him in, offered a meal and advised he should wait till the weather improved. Exhausted and hungry, he accepted the offer. The woman knelt to pray. The doctor asked her what she needed from God and asked if God ever listened to her prayers. She told him her son was down with cancer and had been advised to see a doctor named Abraham, an oncologist. Stunned and speechless, Dr. Abraham began to weep! He screamed loud, "God is great!" He has used the storm to direct my step to your doorstep.

God is still surely in the business of causing things to work together for good to them who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Apostle Paul had a first-hand experience severally (Acts 16:22-27; 28:1-11), hence his declaration in today’s bible reading.

What challenge are you faced with that seems to defy solution? Have you resigned all to God?

PRAYER:

Oh Lord, help me to hold unto you amidst terrifying storms and challenges of life.
