HIGHER EVERYDAY THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 2023 CRY UNTO CHRIST: HE CARES

MEMORY VERSE: “And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, master, carest thou not that we perish” (Mark 4:38)

TEXT: MARK 4:35-41

Beth Moore said, “God will sometimes allow things to get bad enough that we will be forced to look up to Him. Victory always begins with a cry for help. When we come to the end of our efforts and cry out for help, amazing things happen.” In our text today, we see that even when there arose a great storm of wind, such that the waves beat into the ship and was full, Jesus was in the hinder part, asleep on a pillow, so the disciples who were terribly disturbed and frightened by the situation, had to cry unto Him for help. In short, it was their cry that awoke him from sleep. Jesus responded by rebuking the storm and there was a calm.

Are you currently faced with any disturbing situation in life such as examination failures, intractable sickness, persecution, rejection or bereavement? You need to draw the attention of Jesus through prayer because He cares for you. The Bible says, “Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3).

QUOTE: Draw the attention of Jesus.

PRAYER: Dear God, help me to overcome my problems, in Jesus’ name.

CHALLENGE: Crying to God is not a sign of weakness.
