MEMORISE
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ (Galatians 1:10).

Galatians 1:6-13
[6]. I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
[7]. which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
[8]. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
[9]. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
[10]. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
[11]. But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
[12]. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
[13]. For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it.
EXPOSITION
*Don't you realise that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living* (Rom. 6:16; NLT). Implication: by your choice, you can either be for God, man, or the devil. But as a true believer in Christ, called into God's marvellous light, God expects you not to please man at the expense of He who called and saved you (Deut. 6:5). Pitiably, many Christians have turned to please either the devil or men, ministers of God inclusive! They have degenerated to mellowing down their messages to suit their financiers, god-fathers and truth-hating congregations. They forget or deliberately ignore that, *man shall not live by bread alone...* (Matt. 4:4). If Paul wasn't happy with the Galatians because they turned away from God who had shown them His mercy, how much more would God be? God doesn't favour those who compromise the Truth or true gospel, for the false gospel.
Those who prefer pleasing men or Satan than God try to shove aside, silence or burn the Truth (Jer. 36:22-24). The Galatians chose to jettison the Good News for others. Aberration! Materialism, love of money, position and power-seeking, and fear are underlying factors for such godlessness. How far will pleasing man at the expense of God take you? Be warned you can't go far! Make amends, to escape the looming fiery judgement on torchbearers of other gospels (Eccl. 12:14). Repent, return to God, and hold on to the sound pattern of the Word (2 Tim. 1:13).

PRAYER POINTS
1. O Lord my God, save me from adherence to other gospels targeted at ruining the first-hand quality faith once delivered to me.
2 . I reject the practice of pleasing man, Satan at the expense of my God, for any reason, in Jesus' name.
3. Save Your Church from the claws of false gospellers, and those that set themselves as images to be worshipped, alongside, or ahead of God.
