MEMORISE: Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men. Proverbs 22:29

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

[4]Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

[5]And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

[6]And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

[7]But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

MESSAGE:

As God's child, you are to be diligent in whatever is committed into your hands - academically, spiritually, et cetera.

*"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might: for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."* Ecclesiastes 9:10

The Scripture above emphasizes the need for diligence. In light of today's text, let us note some things: One, there are many gifts in the body of Christ, and every believer possesses at least one. Two, it is the Holy Spirit who distributes gifts to every believer as He chooses. Three, there are differences in the administration as well as the division of labour. Thus, children of God should beware of carrying out too many activities in the Church by themselves so as not to break down in the process, thereby becoming counter-productive.

You must understand that no gift is either superior or inferior to another. Apostle Paul warned against this discrimination in the use of the spiritual gifts. Beloved, wherever you find yourself, be a team player.

ACTION POINT:

Identify your spiritual gift(s) and begin to operate in its fullness, to the glory of God.

HYMN 5 - TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

1. Take my life and let it

Consecrated Lord to Thee

Take my moment and my days

Let them flow ceaseless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move

At the impulse of Thy love

Take my feet and let them be

Swift and beautiful for thee

3. Take my voice and let me sing

Always only for my king;

Take my lips and let them be

Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my sliver and my gold

Not a mite would I withhold

Take my intellect, and use

Every power as thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,

It shall no longer mine:

Take my heart, it is Thine own;

It shall be Thy royal throne,

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour

At Thy feet its treasure store;

Take myself, and I will be

Ever, only, all for thee
