Our Daily Manna Devotional 16th October 2023 TOPIC: THE CALIFORNIA GOLDMINE: NEVER, EVER GIVE UP!

 

BASIC SCRIPTURES: ISAIAH 14: 12-15; EZEKIEL 28: 12 – 19

There’s a Californian gold rush story that tells of two brothers who sold all they had and went prospecting for gold.

They discovered a vein of the shining ore, staked a claim, and pro- ceeded to get down to the serious business of getting the gold ore of the mine. All went well at first, but then a strange thing happened.

The vein of gold disappeared! They had come to the end of the rainbow, and the pot of gold was no longer there. The broth- ers decided to continue, but without success. Finally, they gave up in disgust. They sold their equipment and claimed rights for a few hundred dollars, and took the train back home.

Now the man who bought the claim hired an engineer to examine the rock strata of the mine. The engineer advised him to continue digging in the same spot where the former owners had left off.

And three feet deeper, the new owner struck gold. A little more persistence and the two brothers would have been millionaires themselves. 

IT IS ALWAYS TOO EARLY TO QUIT! Ah! There is gold in you too. Do you need to HOLD ON and “dig three feet” farther? Listen: Life isn’t about finding shelter in the storm. It’s about learning to dance in the rain! I remember Benjamin Disraeli: “Nurture your mind with great thoughts. To believe in the heroic makes heroes.”

Reject thoughts of depression, sorrow, fear of the future, confusion, self-pity, etc, because THERE IS A HERO IN YOU! Today’s scripture Vs. 58 says your labour will never be in vain!

Always remind yourself that: You have gone too far to go back. Declare it always – “I have gone too far to go back. I have gone too far to go back!”

Just a little persistence and you will begin to reap the fruit of your labour. Keep holding on! Keep digging! Keep moving ahead. Close with Albert Einstein: “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”

I draw grace and strength and declare that I am not QUITTING TRUSTING THIS GOD – JEHOVAH!

My Father, my Father, don’t allow my destiny to be described as an ABANDONED PROJECT (Pray it seriously for 2 days).

I will keep digging in,till my change comes! Lord, use my challenges to FIRE ME up and I vow NEVER to quit.

I shall be congratulated! LORD, take away “SORRY” from me (Pray it seriously for 3 days).
